Germany to Czech Republic

My time with God, writing on the train from Berlin to Cheb...
Berlin to Cheb this morning. Intense cleaning and bags packed to the brim. The clouds decided to cry today. The first time since we've been here. The morning felt like a cluster of birds rushing through the sky up and down ordering clouds and clearing the sky. Now I'm on the train. Two levels to this rectangle on wheels. Gliding through Europe like penguins on ice. Fields...mmm. Oh how I've missed you. Bare fields with colorful rooftops near the horizon. I'm not a city girl. I'm not a country girl. I'm both. Like a cozy plad shirt. Horizontals mixed with verticals creating a balanced pattern. Little bits of both. One month in the city. It felt like a lot longer. When you're in the city you miss the horizon, grass, and stars. Little things that are needed in my world. The fields right now are the color of sand, wet sand. Bare tall trees like wooden spiderwebs against the cotton white sky. From far away it feels like a dream. The colors of this landscape are soft. There's not much contrast at all. Damien Rice. Chilled water. Skating behind glass windows though open fields and bare choirs of trees praising God. Every once and a while the train stops, the only thing that seems to be moving is my breathing. After a short moment of resting in a cute cobblestone town with yellow houses, the train drives on. My mind is full yet empty at the same time. I feel so close to God in this moment. I'm out of reach to anyone. I like that feeling. Far away. People can't reach me, and I can't reach anyone. This is kind of precious. I just talk to my best friend. Much of the world today is filled with so much noise, its really refreshing to have quiet in almost every way.

Another highlight of my time in Berlin was our Art Show/Live Music night we just had at der garten (a ministry we were working with, small cafe) We showed the Identity video I'm in, had made flyers and passed them out since week one. We just wanted to love on people, I'm so passionate about unconditional love and joy. We had munchies and would each play music at different times. Our art was hanging up around the cafe. We also had this wonderful idea of a prophetic art table where people could come and we could pray for them and paint or draw whatever word God gave us for them. Kim, the owner of the cafe would explain to people that I was praying for people and getting prophetic words, words of encouragement, whatever God told me, and painting that for them. We had a stack of 3x3 flat canvas squares and some paint, paper and pens - I was sitting there for most of the night. People would come sit down and I would ask them, "Can I pray for you?" At first it was one person every while, but once they knew what I was doing, and once people started sharing what I had painted for them there was a line of people waiting to be prayed for. People would tap me on the shoulder and say, "me next, me next!" I knew it was all God.

We are staying with three lovely lovely ladies here in Cheb. The little town is super small and every building is a different color. Am I in a coloring book or real life? Hhaa, but no seriously its been so amazing to see the cookie cutter town, and to then see all the prostitution and darkness behind it all. God is definitely moving here. We have done a kids program with the roma children and that was just precious. Czech is a very out there language but we are trying trying! The other night we did prostitute ministry on the streets. It was powerful for everyone and we met ladies, had good converstations with broken woman on the street, gave them little gifts with chocolates and candles. Its not like Amsterdam where its like BAM there's the prostitution. Its so hidden here in Czech. And since Cheb is just 10 minutes across the border so many german men come to have cheap sex and because its more hidden. We will be doing lots of nights like that one, going out and loving on them and praying! That and street evangelism! Yea man! We are stoked!

Love love love to everyone! Thank you for your prayers!

Walking into week three...

I can't believe we've been here in Berlin for two and a half weeks. It feels like we've been here for a whole lot longer. Thank you for your prayers regarding the last post, we have definitely been feeling them! The team is doing great. Let me fill you in on what's been going on! We all have gotten familiar with the trains and buses, which makes transportation to each ministry location fun! Each week three of the girls have gone to help lead worship at the young adults group on Wednesdays. The second week we also started working with this incredible ministry called The Garten. There are three lovely people that have started this ministry completely from a vision that was from God. Its a Cafe type place, still growing - the ministry time that we do with them is called To The Streets. They are so passionate about street evangelism and worship! Several times we have gone to The Garten to have a prayer time/worship time, wait on God to see what He has for us that day, then we just go for it! One day we wrote little notes on post its, verses and words of encouragement then we went into a mall and gave them to people and put them in stores for people to discover. Worship is huge! Almost every time we've been with them we have brought our guitars, and gathered other instruments such as the glockenspiel, drum, harmonica...and just gone out to the streets or on the train, in the train stations, on top of stairs, and just prayed and played worship. Not as a performance or for money but just to PRAISE THE LORD! The power of His presence is unreal. Something similar that we've done is called S-Bahn ministry - where we go on the S-Bahn train that circles all of Berlin, and play worship for a solid hour. We've done this once before the first week we were here and tonight actually will be our second time and we are all stoked! We go with Kim, Bre, and Thelo from the Garten. Other days we've done prayer walks and spiritual mapping. We have met some cool people on the streets, and had some really good conversations. Everyone has a desire to walk in the leading of the Holy Spirit wherever we go! There is more to come...the pockets of time that I have to write are rare. Thank you for your patience! I will write more this Saturday night! I will fill you in on what's coming up and add a few more photos. We love you guys! Here are a few pictures!

We arrived!

Hello dear family and friends back home. We arrived safely in Berlin! The travel time was so lovely - long yes, but wonderful. We flew with Singapore airlines the entire way and their service was incredible. There was no confusion with bags, check-in, connecting flights, arrival, everything was great! Praise the Lord!

The journey...

Our first week in Berlin has been wonderful. We are slowly getting over jetlag each day, feeling stronger and stronger, so excited for what God is going to do here! We have time each morning with worship and prayer, intercession, whatever God tells us to do. The first few days after we arrived we got settled into our apartment, learned a bit of the language and got an overview of the culture and people, discovered the trains and how to get places, and played worship for a young adults group. Two nights ago we led a youth service. God showed up! We sang worship, shared testimonies, and had a message. It was a beautiful night. That was our first real night for ministry and we were so full of joy. We connected with the youth afterwards and had great conversations.

We have been doing video logs regularly and I will be uploading those soon! Thank you for your prayers, we definitely feel them. We all feel so much peace here. Here are some things you can be praying for: more passion and boldness, unity within the team, that each of our hearts would be open to Gods leading in whatever way that may be, rest for today (Sunday), joy joy joy! More joy! God is so good and the team is really doing great. We feel so much like a cozy little family here, and our apartment feels like home. We are thankful for our slippers, the heaters, and hot tea.

We love you guys!

The beginning of a great adventure...

Welcome to our blog! Journey with us as we travel to Europe! We leave for Germany February 14th. Let me introduce to you our lovely team of girls, and tell you about what we're going to be doing!

From left to right: Taylor Lewis from USA, Niesje Schilperoort from USA (Leader), Alicia Perreault from Canada, Christie McBride from Canada, Hannah Guge from USA, Alicia McLeod from USA (Leader).

We are currently apart of a Music Art & Dance DTS (Discipleship Training School) in Brisbane, Australia. Our school has 46 students and the group has been divided into six different outreach teams. We are the outreach team for Germany and Czech Republic! We leave February 14th and return to Brisbane on April 3rd. We will be in Berlin for five weeks and in different parts of the Czech Republic for two weeks. We are going to be working in gypsy communities, with homeless and drug addicts, doing ministry in sex trafficking, helping disciple youth groups, sharing testimonies, leading worship, and we will be painting and singing on the streets. We're so excited to see what God's gonna do and how He's gonna use us.

Please consider joining our team as a sponsor. Our primary need is financial - we're still in need of $7000 for us to minister in Europe. We would also greatly appreciate your prayer support.

We plan to keep you updated weekly on what God is doing and how things are going. Thank you for joining us on this amazing adventure God has called us on. Each of us individually know without a doubt that God has called us to Germany and Czech Republic for such a time as this. God has knitted our team together so perfectly, and we know He holds everything. We leave in one month! The excitement is rising...

If you feel led to support us financially in anyway we would be eternally grateful. Please email alicia@goywam.com if you are interested in sponsoring us!
